Introduction
Welcome to my trophy guide for AI: The Somnium Files nirvanA Initiative. This game is a sequel to 2019's AI: The Somnium Files but playing the previous title is not necessary to enjoying this one. This game is a visual novel / adventure / point and click game with a heavy emphasis on story. Many of the trophies will come from story events but many will be locked behind making certain decisions and actions at very particular times. Additionally, there are 65 very easily missed collectibles that will need to be collected. My best advice is to use our trophy walkthrough because almost every chapter has potential to need to be replayed if you miss certain actions. That being said, if you'd like to play blindly and enjoy the story you absolutely can. The in game flowchart allows you to quickly revisit any section of the game and the skip function allows you to fly past all dialogue so it's up to you how you want to approach it. Overall this is a very simple platinum with a guide, but a tedious one without.
Stage 1: Chapter 0
AI: The Somnium Files nirvanA Initiative is a story told through two different routes. In the first route, you will play as a new character named Ryuki. In the second, you will play as the returning character Mizuki. Chapter 0 serves as a starting point before the two that is not specific to either route and generally gets you introduced to the mechanics of the game.
Stage 2: Ryuki Route
Following Chapter 0, you will be starting with Ryuki's route. Ryuki's route makes up roughly half of the game and will unlock crucial information for the Mizuki route. You will start Ryuki's route by answering "I don't know" during the very first Somnium.
Stage 3: Mizuki Route
After clearing the Ryuki route you will now have the information needed to go back to the first Somnium in Chapter 0 and finish the Somnium following the "I know" route which will put you in to the Mizuki section of the game. Follow the Mizuki route in the same way you did the Ryuki route, collecting all Hidden Eyeballs, exploring all side routes and collecting chapter-specific trophies along the way.
Stage 4: Cleanup
There are just an odd few items that you will need to do after the main story for cleanup.

This trophy is for completing 2/10 Mizuki chapter 0 - New investigation. This is the first Somnium of the game and will introduce you to the basic mechanics of Somniums in general. This Somnium branches off in to the two main routes of the story. Answering "I Know" will put you on Mizuki's route and "I Don't Know" on Ryuki's. If this is your first time it is heavily advised to follow Ryuki's route as this is the intended order. You can only start Mizuki's route by answering questions that you would only know the answer to if you've already played Ryuki's route so the only way to accidentally do them in the wrong order is obtaining the answers outside of the game.

Chikara's Somnium revolves around using his experiments to piece together abilities that will allow Tama to navigate the area to the fullest extent.

You will unlock this trophy for clearing Kojemi's Somnium during 2/13 Ryuki Chapter 3 - Need Info. Kojemi's Somnium revolves around interacting with him repeatedly to recreate the information you seek. There are two ways to complete this Somnium that will diverge into two different routes on the flowchart. The trophy will pop as soon as you complete either route.
To complete this Somnium follow the steps below.
Speak to Komeji on stage
Answer "Quiz"
Talk to Komeji again and choose “Super funny gag”
Talk to Komeji in the Western green tent and select “Autograph”
Talk to Komeji near the Eastern stairs and choose “Inflate balloon”

Amame's Somnium is another relatively simple one as it will revolve entirely around answering questions correctly. It is also worth mentioning that you can unlock the trophy Quiz King in this chapter for answering all questions correctly.

Clear Iris's Somnium
To be free from everything.
This story related trophy is unlocked for completing the Somnium in 2/15 Ryuki Chapter 5 R1 - Nemesis Identified. This Somnium is another one that is relatively easy to complete as it is basically just a game of Pokemon. You can walk around the field collecting characters from the game called "Kusemon" and when you're happy with them, enter the main building and fight a series of enemies in turn-based battles.
You can also unlock the Kusemon Master trophy in this Somnium by hatching two eggs. It is a good idea to do this not just for the sake of unlocking that trophy but because the Kusemon you hatch from the eggs are the strongest possible options and are capable of defeating most enemies in one attack. The eggs can be collected by interacting with two different topiaries and walking around until they hatch - just like in Pokemon. You can hold up to three Kusemon at a time, Aiba and Date will make good choices as your third.

This story-related trophy will unlock in 2/11 Mizuki Chapter 1 - Nostalgic Idol. You can unlock another trophy in this Somnium by throwing a shoe at the end of the chapter with maximum power.

Mizuki Chapter 2
Clear Gen's Somnium
Solid, unbreakable, stoic.
This trophy can be unlocked for completing the Somnium during 2/12 Mizuki Chapter 2 - Necessary Intervention. This Somnium has very little exploring as the progression revolves around a cooking contest beaten through quicktime events instead.
On the lowest difficulty these quicktime events are incredibly simple and there are no penalties for wrong button inputs. Each dish will have a three rounds of button prompts, passing all three rounds for a dish will award it the highest rank (rank 3) and you will only fail them by running out of time. Preparing all dishes to rank 3 will also unlock the Surviving Hell's Kitchen trophy.

Inevitability
Mizuki Chapter 3
Clear Masked Woman's Somnium
No need to hesitate, there is only one destination.
You will get this trophy while completing 2/13 Mizuki Chapter 3 - Neurotic Inception as part of the story. This is the only Somnium to have an element of stealth in the game.
This is a fairly short Somnium that branches off in to two different routes on the flowchart depending on whether you know the password for the computer. You will learn the password in one of these two routes so it is implied that you should fail the password input on your first time playing it.
If Chikara is in the room you need to be sneaking past him by staying out of his field of vision and avoiding the purple highlighted items. If you fail to do so you will get a quicktime event to recover. Be aware that there is a trophy for not failing any of these quicktime events while going through the route involving having the password on your second visit. See Kunoichi vs Mad Scientist for more information.

An undying grudge, permanence of loss and misfortune.
This trophy is for completing the Somnium in 2/14 Mizuki Chapter 4 M1 - Nonentity Incognito. In this Somnium you will be tasked with performing a bunch of escape-room type puzzles in order to gather passwords to escape the room.
If you aren't a fan of puzzles like this, the codes needed to progress are actually hard-coded meaning you can just enter them straight in without solving the puzzles.

This trophy can be unlocked for completing the final Somnium in 2/15 Mizuki Chapter 5 M1 - Nightmare Irreconcilable. This is another simple Somnium similar to Amame's first as it does not require much exploring. You will progress by showing evidence to particular items around the room.
Use the following steps below as a guide through the basic choices to finish the Somnium. The trophy will pop as soon as it's finished. You need to present all evidence correctly during this chapter for the High Inquisitor trophy so if you make any mistakes be sure to restart.

Clear Komeji/Shoma route.
This trophy is awarded for completing the Kojemi/Shoma route and seeing their ending. To reach the Kojemi/Shoma route, you need to prioritize Shoma over money during the Somnium 2/13 Ryuki Chapter 3 - Need Info. Doing so will send you down the left branch on the flowchart and unlock chapter 2/13 Ryuki Chapter 3 R2 - Joy for Anguish. There are three chapters and a Somnium down this route and the trophy will pop along with the credits at the end of it.

Clear Explosion route.
This trophy is unlocked for completing 2/15 Ryuki Chapter 5 R1 - She Was the Universe. This chapter is mostly story and serves as the finale of the main Ryuki route. If you've followed the roadmap or attached trophy walkthrough this will be the final trophy you unlock before moving on to Mizuki's side of the story. The climactic choice at the end does not affect this trophy.

Resolution END
Clear Resolution route.
The Resolution ending is the main ending of the game. To unlock this trophy you will need to complete every preceding chapter of every preceding route. The game is designed with the intention of having you play every route there are no optional chapters so if you find yourself stuck by a locked chapter or unable to enter information you have likely missed something. If you open the menu and navigate to the flowchart you can see all the paths of the game you can take. The branching routes are represented by lines so if you see a line that leads to no chapter there is a route to be unlocked using the chapter it comes from. If you've explored all necessary chapters then the Resolution ending will unlock at the bottom of the main Mizuki route labelled M1 in chapter view.
There are no complicated puzzles or Somniums in this ending it's mostly comprised of story conclusion and action quicktime events.

Gen and Amame END
Clear Gen/Amame route.
This trophy will be unlocked for completing 2/15 Mizuki Chapter 5 M2 - All That We Are. You can get to this section of the flowchart starting from 2/13 Mizuki Chapter 3 - Neurotic Inception. This Somnium branches out in to two timelines on the flowchart depending on whether you have the password for the computer or not. If this is your first time playing through the chapter then the natural order is to not enter a password on your first visit but to get the ending tied to this trophy you must know the password. For the exact sequence needed in this Somnium do the following:

If this is your first time playing through the chapter then the natural order is to not enter a password on your first visit. For the exact sequence needed in this Somnium do the following:

Clear Ryuki Chapter Diverge
This secret ending can only be unlocked after seeing the Resolution END. During Epilogue - Braver Than All Flowers you will visit Naix Japan Branch and Tokiko's hologram will splash a number largely across your screen. This number is specific to each person so you will actually have to go into this chapter and remember it.
Now go to 2/11 Ryuki Chapter 1 - Ought to Know starting from Naix Japan President's Office.
Speak through all options and interact with the symbol on the wall.
Eventually Tokiko will ask you questions, do the following:

Walk all the way over towards the red dot and interact with her. When she gives you a choice choose to share this information with Ryuki and you will receive this ending.

Ryuki Chapter 3
Go to Atami with the Receptionist.
The subject of Date's undying attention from the first game makes her return in this sequel with her own gag ending tied to this trophy. It can be unlocked any time you see her in the Ryuki route so to unlock it navigate to 2/13 Ryuki Chapter 3 - Farewell on the flow chart and start from Entertainment Agency Lemniscate. Interact with the Receptionist and repeatedly select the option "Let's go to Atami together". Doing this enough times will give Ryuki the resolve he needs to decide to end the case prematurely in favor of a happy ending with the beautiful receptionist.

Collect more than 90 Appendix files.
Throughout the game you will unlock further explanation on some references and information. If you've played other Visual Novels, this could be compared to a typical "Tips" section. You will unlock entries in the Appendix by encountering their reference within the story. Some will have very specific locations within the story and some can be unlocked in multiple locations. Unlike Trivia, you will not be notified of new Appendix items.
You will more than likely unlock this naturally by playing the game as there is a total of 106 in the game and you only need 90, but there are some that can be missed if you end a conversation too early.
You can monitor your Appendix items by opening Menu > File > Appendix. In the slight chance that you missed enough Appendix items to not unlock this trophy after exploring every route, you can compare your list to the one hosted in the AI2 Appendix + Trivia Guide to find any you might need (credit to the original author mimzy630 for compiling this list).

Collect more than 50 Trivia files.
While playing the game, at times you will unlock a comment from Tama/Aiba that will appear at the top of screen, these are known as Trivia. To unlock this trophy you must collect 50 of the 61 in the game. Whether you unlock this trophy naturally or in cleanup likely depends on the choice you made at the start of the game pertaining to allowing spoilers from the previous game to be talked about openly. There are three Trivia items that can only be unlocked by selecting "I Am" to allow spoilers in the game and there are nine Trivia items that can only be unlocked by selecting "I Am Not" to prevent spoilers in the game.
It is possible to get this trophy with either selection but choosing "I Am" will only leave 52 that you can collect without changing your answer so you are less likely to unlock it naturally.

The Dream Album is a feature that can be found in the Bonus menu of the title screen. It contains a variety of images including character models and concept art that can be purchased using the Eyeballs (currency, not collectible) found throughout the game.
To complete the Dream Album you do not have to purchase any of the items in the Dream Album. You simply need to make them available for purchase by unlocking them. Every item in the Dream Album can be unlocked through Somniums.
You unlock items in Dream Album A by clearing each Somnium with more than one second left. You unlock items in Dream Album B by finding all five Hidden Eyeballs in each Somnium. In trophy terms, you will unlock this once you've unlocked both All's Right In The World and Cornea Collector.

Find all the hidden eyeballs in Somnium.
You're the master of hide-and-seek.
In every Somnium are five Hidden Eyeball collectibles. They are not plainly visible until you are standing close and in some cases only appear down certain choices within Somniums. Most of them are tied to certain points in the Somnium and won't appear until you take a particular action and in many cases disappear after you make any further actions making them very easy to miss. You can check if you've collected all of the Hidden Eyeballs in a chapter by opening a Somnium chapter in the Flowchart. On the left side of the screen you will see "Hidden Eyeballs #/5".
There are 65 Hidden Eyeballs hidden across 13 Somniums throughout the game. You can consult the trophy walkthrough for a text description relative to Somnium progress or consult the video below for a visual reference to each Hidden Eyeball's location.

The eyeballs here, not to be confused with the Hidden Eyeballs collectible, are an in-game currency that you can use to unlock various bonus content such as outfits, concept art, images, songs or a secret bonus.
You can collect this currency by:
Choosing options in Somnia that haven't been chosen before
Clearing a Somnium with more than 1 second left
Collecting Hidden Eyeballs (collectible type) in Somniums
Growing an Eyeballie in to each adult type for the first time.
This trophy will come naturally if you plan to get the platinum as you will be collecting every adult Eyeballie, Hidden Eyeball and completing every Somnium along the way for other trophies. Our full trophy walkthrough, if followed entirely, should leave you with about 23,000 eyeballs by the time you get the platinum.
You do not have to have all 20,000 Eyeballs in your possession at once so feel free to spend them if you feel like it.

Gacha Got Ya
Collected all [Adult]-type Eyeballies.
In chapter 0 you will be introduced to the Eyeballies feature in the menu. Eyeballies are essentially this game's Tamagotchi, except the only interactions you can make are through questions the Eyeballies ask. There are four stats for your Eyeballie and each question will increase one stat by +3 and the other three stats by +1. After three questions, your baby Eyeballie will evolve into a child. After six further questions, the child will evolve in to an adult. The highest numbered stat at both these opportunities will determine which form your Eyeballie evolves in to.
Eyeballies only ask questions every 20 minutes in real time. When you first open the menu you will be asked if you want to add a notification to tell you every time a question is ready. Despite the timed questions, this isn't something you necessarily need to actively work on because once you finish the main story you will unlock the ability to make all questions instant. It is still advised to do this as you play through the game to prevent too much of a grind later on though.
You can see a detailed list of all forms and the stats required in-game by going to Menu > File > Manual > 8. Menu: Eyeballies Strategy Information. Be aware that some of the terms used in this manual suffer from translatio issues and differ from those in the actual Eyeballies menu. Namely:

Hatch the Black and White Bear and the Wanderer during Iris's Somnium.
You can unlock this trophy during 2/15 Ryuki Chapter 5 R1 - Nemesis Identified. This Somnium has you essentially playing Pokemon. You can first walk around and find different characters to use and then initiate a series of battles to finish the chapter. There are two secret Kusemon (A.K.A Pokemon) that can only be received by hatching eggs. This trophy will unlock when you collect both of them.
Egg 1 - Wanderer
Facing the main red door that you need to open, turn right and walk over to the topiary you can see in the distance.
Egg 2 - Black and White Bear (Monokuma!)
On the Southern-most wall of the map.
You can hatch eggs the same way you would in a game of Pokemon, by walking. It will take about 2 minutes (Somnium time not real time) to hatch each egg. Since you can only hold one at a time you will be using up the majority of your time with this trophy so you may want to focus a run of the chapter entirely on just obtaining it. If you do however do it while completing the chapter the Kusemon obtained from eggs are very strong against the enemies you'll face.

You can only unlock this trophy in Shoma's Somnium during 2/14 Ryuki Chapter 4 R2 - Nested Insecurities. To get it you just need to release the doll from under the fridge and get paralyzed by it by interacting with the pot.

All-Japan Shoe Toss Champion
Mizuki Chapter 1
Toss your shoe with maximum power during Kizuna's Somnium.
You're a champion!
You can unlock this trophy in Kizuna's Somnium during 2/11 Mizuki Chapter 1 - Nostalgic Idol.
At the end of the chapter you will face a small mini-game where you have to beat Kizuna at a game of Shoe Toss. You will have three turns and in order to pass you need to win two out of the three turns. For this trophy in one of these three rounds you need to throw your character's shoe with maximum strength.
This is a fairly simple trophy but it can feel a bit confusing without practice. You control Aiba's swinging using left and right. You need to hold in the direction she's swinging and then change directions with timing that matches her swinging. If you imagine yourself on the swings it is basically the same principle as when you would change swinging your legs inwards and outwards in order to maintain momentum. The power bar on the side of the screen will indicate how much you have built up and the trophy will unlock by reaching the very top of it. This trophy can be a little temperamental as it has been reported to unlock on a toss of less than maximum power and it has also been reported to not unlock when thrown at maximum power so it may take a couple attempts.
There is no penalty for failing this mini-game so just make sure you don't successfully win two rounds until you have got it.

Surviving Hell's Kitchen
Mizuki Chapter 2
Perform rank 3 cooking skill 3 times during Gen's Somnium.
During 2/12 Mizuki Chapter 2 - Necessary Intervention you will participate in a cooking contest. You will prepare three dishes for the tasters and each dish will be cooked through a series of three quicktime events. For every one of the three quicktime events per dish, you will rank up the quality of that dish. Successfully performing all quicktime events for a dish will earn it Rank 3. To get this trophy you must complete all dishes to Rank 3, meaning that you will need to complete all nine quicktime events successfully within the time limit. This is easier than it sounds because there is no penalty for a wrong button input meaning if you're really struggling you can just button mash. That however, shouldn't be necessary because turning the difficulty down gives you plenty of time to easily work your way through the button presses.

Kunoichi vs Mad Scientist
Mizuki Chapter 3
Clear M1 route with no game over and no QTE fails during Masked Woman's Somnium.
You can unlock this trophy during 2/13 Mizuki Chapter 3 - Neurotic Inception. In this Somnium you will be faced with a stealth section as Chikara will enter the room at times to look around for you. If you wander into his field of vision or bump in to the purple highlighted objects in the room he will see you and you will have to perform a quicktime event to remain undetected. You will fail to earn this trophy if you mess up any of these quicktime events or get a game over in any way. If you fail at all, return to the flowchart and try again because it needs to be done all in one go no retries allowed.
A helpful tip: if you get the beginning of the cut-scene showing that he's noticed you, take all fingers off any buttons until the quicktime event comes up. It's very easy to fail them accidentally by trying to progress the text with X but this text will progress on its own so you will just end up pressing the wrong button for the quicktime event.
You also need to be following the M1 route for this trophy so follow the steps below if you're unsure how to do that:

Problem is, Boss has a large variety of items in her office that can be interacted with and many of them can be small and easy to miss. To unlock this trophy move the cursor around the room and anything that has a green label needs to be interacted with until it turns grey.
An easy time to unlock this is by opening "2/13 Ryuki Chapter 3 - Farewell" on the flowchart as you will be placed in Boss's office very soon into the chapter and all items are visible.

A fan favorite gag from the first game returns with the Inspector Kagami (or was it Omochi?) still struggling with the curse of no one being able to remember his name. To unlock this trophy you must have every conversation with him about his name throughout the game. In every instance you will trigger it by interacting with him and selecting "Ask his name" over and over until the option disappears. There are plenty of times where the game will tell you that you already know his name and there's no reason to ask again, but if the option is still there then you still need to keep selecting it.

During 2/14 Mizuki Chapter 4 M1 - Visions, you will have the chance to give chocolate to a few characters in celebration of Valentine's day.
The Detective and Police Officer can be found at the crime scene early on in the chapter at Misetan Amusement Park. Shoma can be found at Central Hospital as soon as you are given the ability to leave the crime scene.
Simply talk to them in these locations and select "give chocolate" to fulfill the requirements. Be sure to do this first because exploring other conversational topics will progress the story onwards and you'll have to restart the chapter to try again.

Not long after you take control during 2/11 Ryuki Chapter 1 - Anyone Imagines, you will be given a few locations you can visit. One of the locations is Sekiba High. To unlock this trophy go to Sekiba High, interact with Iris and choose the "German Suplex" option to cause Ryuki to sing a little rhyme. As he finishes the trophy will unlock. If you are following the attached walkthrough this will be the second trophy you unlock.
