Introduction

Welcome to the trophy & achievement guide for Digimon Survive. This long awaited release is a fresh take on the Digimon series revolving around visual novel and tactic strategy. This game is mostly comprised of text but the overhead battle aspect isn't to be overlooked as it makes up quite a good (and well balanced) portion of the game. The majority of the trophies can be earned simply by experiencing every portion of the game but there are a lot of aspects that can be very easily missed if you're not actively paying attention to them which will result in more playthroughs than necessary. See below for our complete trophy walkthrough.

Difficulty: 2/10 if played on lowest difficulty

Minimum playthroughs: 4. One for every major route - Moral, Wrathful, Harmony and Truth.

Time to platinum: 30 hours (highly dependent on reading/skipping)

Online Trophies: 0

Number of missable trophies: 9. Item Master, all Mega level trophies, Master Researcher

Glitched Trophies: 0 but the description for Master Researcher is very misleading - you need to own every Digimon not just encounter them.

Stage 1: Harmony route

On the first playthrough you can pretty much do whatever you want but it's best to stick to one Karma route for each playthrough to make sure you unlock each of Agumon's evolutions for that route. Harmony options are generally the choice on your right during any decision. You can't get the Truth route or really any of the affinity evolutions in the first playthrough so just make sure to always be choosing Harmony choices.

Stage 2: Truth route

After playing the game once you can load your clear data and play again with the Truth route unlocked. To follow the Truth route you need to make sure your characters survive by raising their affinity. I won't say to avoid spoilers, but you should know who you need to save because the game will tell you at the end of your first run that that person could have been saved if you had a higher affinity.

Stage 3: Moral route

Similar to the Harmony route this time you need to make all Moral choices which are usually the left most options when making dialogue choices. If you're following the guide below this will also be where we take care of the majority of the Master Researcher trophy.

Stage 4: Wrathful route

Just like the Harmony and Moral routes except this time you need to make all Wrathful choices which usually correlated to the middle (or top) choice during decisions.

Tips

Item Master

To get the Item Master trophy you need to pick up 100 items while exploring. This is a huge grind if you leave it until last and will probably result in you having to play the game a few more times if you're not careful so you should be actively contributing to it from the start. Check the trophy description and be aware of it from the start.

Master Researcher

This is another trophy you should be aware of from the start as it requires you owning every single Digimon in the game (not simultaneously, you can evolve them) and many Digimon spawns are tied to specific routes. As such you should absolutely be recruiting as much as you can as you progress and at least keep an eye on the attached trophy walkthrough for any noteworthy recruits that could require a whole extra playthrough if you miss.

Skip text

In options you can change the settings to allow you to skip text. If you're not a fan of the visual novel portion of the game you can use this to skip through it all easily.

Skip battles

If you aren't a fan of the tactical side of the game know that you can effectively skip battles by pressing pause and clicking Auto Battle. The game will carry out the entire battle for you and if you lower it to the lowest difficulty you shouldn't fail a single battle in the entire game meaning you don't even have to battle whatsoever.

Affinity

Affinity for each character can be raised by spending time with them and choosing the right dialogue in your exchanges with them. If you want to play this game without a guide know that you can easily open the save menu with the Square button to save, and reload if you make a wrong dialogue decision. Almost every single choice in the game will fall under the category of increasing Karma or increasing Affinity and you will be notified when one or the other is increased so if you make a choice and see no notification then you've missed an opportunity to increase either. Affinity is tied to Mega evolving those person's partner Digimon and there is a trophy for each.

Shadow battles

While the game will show you Free Battles and how to recruit new Digimon pretty early on, one thing that's not overly explained is Shadow Battles. Whenever you find yourself with the ability to move around the map you will often see locations with no person or exclamation mark icons present. These locations will sometimes have Shadow Battles that you can access by opening your camera with R2. Shadow Battles host a fair few exclusive recruitment options for filling out your Field Guide so it's a good idea to try and explore them when you can.

Survival Master

Acquired all trophies.

Platinum trophy for earning all other trophies.

The Adventure Begins

Embarked on your adventure

This is a story related trophy that will unlock after your first battle in the Prologue. It is completely unmissable.

Fateful Decision

Reached a fork in the story

This is a story related trophy that will unlock naturally at the end of Part 8. You will earn this around the same time the game informs you that the story diverges soon and insist that you save your game before moving forward.

Final Battle Imminent

Entered the final battle

This is a story related trophy that will unlock at the final battle of whatever route you do first. If you're following the walkthrough and on the Harmony route this will unlock around the same time as the trophy "A Brother Unredeemed".

Path to the truth

Took the Truthful route

The Truthful route cannot be reached on your first time playing the game. You will need to save your clear data at the end of your first playthrough and load it to start new game plus. To get this trophy and start the Truthful route you need to develop Ryo's affinity high enough that it changes his fate from the first time round. The attached guide details every decision that will increase his affinity and put you on the right path but if you wish to do it yourself you can always save any time you're talking to him and reload if you don't see a notification that his affinity increased. If you are successful you will unlock this trophy towards the end of Part 3.

Downed Dokugumon!

Beat Dokugumon

Dokugumon is the first main boss of the game and completely unavoidable regardless of which route you are taking. You will unlock this trophy on his defeat at the end of Part 1

Finished Fangmon!

Beat Fangmon

Fangmon is the second boss fight and you will face him regardless of any choices or route selection. This will unlock at the end of Part 2.

Axed Arukenimon!

Beat Arukenimon

Arukenimon is one of the main bosses of Part 3 and completely unavoidable regardless of decisions.

Crushed Cyclonemon!

Beat Cyclonemon

Cyclonemon is the second boss of Part 3 and completely unavoidable regardless of decisions. You will unlock this trophy shortly after the previous one for beating Arukenimon.

Got Garurumon!

Beat Garurumon.

Garurumon is one of two boss fights at the end of Part 4. It is completely unavoidable regardless of choices.

Mashed Monzaemon!

Beat Monzaemon

Monzaemon is the main boss of Part 4 and this trophy will unlock for defeating him. This fight is completely unavoidable as it will happen regardless of any choices. It will pop shortly after "Got Garurumon".

Whipped Wendigomon!

Beat Wendigomon

Wendigomon is the main boss of Part 5 and this trophy will unlock for defeating him on your first playthrough. This fight is completely unavoidable and unaffected by decisions.

Muzzled MegaSeadramon!

Beat MegaSeadramon

This is the first boss fight in the list that won't unlock in order. In Part 5 of your first playthrough you will fight Seadramon a few times but its evolution MegaSeadramon doesn't appear until you enter new game plus and beyond. Once you return on your next playthrough it will be the main boss of Part 5 and close out the chapter. He seems to appear regardless of whether you're on the Truthful route or not.

Pummeled Piedmon!

Beat Piedmon

Piedmon is the main boss of Part 7 and you will unlock this trophy for defeating him there. Piedmon will appear here regardless of your decisions or route selection making this trophy completely unmissable.

Returned to the Fold

Saved Miyuki

While you will save Miyuki a few different times across the game and its many routes, this trophy specifically is for saving her during the events at the end of Part 11 while following the Wrathful route. This trophy will be unmissable as long as your Wrathful number is higher than Moral and Harmony, you can check this in Profile.

A Brother Unredeemed

Beat Boltboutamon

Boltboutamon is a boss that is exclusive to the Harmony route. As long as you have a higher Harmony rating than Moral and Wrathful this trophy will be unavoidable. It will pop towards the end of the route as Boltboutamon is one of the final battles that close out this route and it will also unlock Boltboutamon as an evolution for Kaito's Dracmon.

So Sorry, Sweet Aoi

Beat Plutomon

Plutomon is the final boss when following the Wrathful route to completion. As long as you have a higher Wrathful rating than Harmony and Moral you will be locked in to this battle and no further decisions are necessary.

Massacred the Master!

Beat the Master

You will battle the Master in some capacity across most routes in the game but most of them won't unlock this trophy. It only counts for unlocking this trophy if you beat the Master following the Moral route in the game. If you ensure that your Moral rating is higher than your Harmony and Wrathful rating you will unlock this trophy during the final fight of the game.

Bested Baihumon!

Beat Baihumon

Baihumon is the main boss fight for Part 9 when following the Truthful route. To unlock the truthful route you need to start new game plus and ensure that Ryo survives during Part 3. If you do so, the fight with Baihumon will inevitably happen at the end of Part 9 and earn you this trophy.

Ebonwumon defeated!

Beat Ebonwumon

Ebonwumon is another boss fight exclusive to the Truthful route. To unlock the Truthful route you need to start a new game plus and ensure that Ryo survives by raising his affinity at every possible opportunity. Ebonwumon will appear at the end of Part 10 and you will earn this trophy on his defeat.

Annihilated Azulongmon!

Beat Azulongmon

Azulongmon is another boss that is exclusive to the Truthful route. To enter the Truthful route you need to start new game plus and ensure that Ryo survives by raising his affinity as high as you can. If you manage to keep him alive you will face Azulongmon at the end of Part 11.

Summonted Zhuqiaomon!

Beat Zhuqiaomon

Zhuqiaomon is a boss fight that is exclusive to the Truthful route. To unlock the Truthful route you need to start new game plus and ensure that Ryo survives by raising his affinity at every possible opportunity. If you do this correctly, you will face Zhuqiaomon at the end of Part 12.

Sanctified Sovereign

Beat Fanglongmon Ruin Mode

Fanglongmon Ruin Mode is the final boss you will face while following the Truthful route. To unlock the Truthful route you will need to start new game plus and ensure that Ryo survives by raising your affinity with him as high as you can. If done correctly, you will face a slew of new bosses on this route ultimately leading to Fanglongmon Ruin Mode and this gold trophy!

Birth of the Digital Monsters

Completed the Moral route

There are three main routes and a true route in this game. The three main routes are divided by Moral, Harmony and Wrathful. Many decisions in this game will offer you three choices with each of them increasing one of these three stats. Thankfully, you can tell which one will be increased by the way it's presented. In Karma choices, the left option will always increase Moral, the middle (top) will always increase Wrathful and the right will always increase Harmony. The game will notify you if any of these increase in the top right corner.

You can check your Karma stats by opening the pause menu and clicking Profile. Whatever one of these three stats is the highest is the route you will diverge on to later in the game.

For this trophy you need to ensure that Moral is the highest by choosing the left option as much as possible. It doesn't matter if you mess it up and add points to other categories you just need to make sure the one you want is the highest. The trophy will unlock once you complete the game.

Wrathful Reckoning

Completed the Wrathful route

For this trophy you need to ensure that Wrathful is the highest by choosing the middle option as much as possible. It doesn't matter if you mess it up and add points to other categories you just need to make sure the one you want is the highest. The trophy will unlock once you complete the game.

New World Order

Completed the Harmonious route

There are three main routes and a true route in this game. The three main routes are divided by Moral, Harmony and Wrathful. Many decisions in this game will offer you three choices with each of them increasing one of these three stats. Thankfully, you can tell which one will be increased by the way it's presented. Generation of the Future

Completed Truthful route to the next generation

This trophy is unlocked for completing the Truthful route. The Truthful route is not available from the start of the game and is only unlocked in new game plus. To get it you must keep everyone alive to the end of the game. At the end of your first game you will be notified that you could have saved Ryo if you raised your affinity with him so save your clear data, load it and begin the game again, this time make sure to invest heavily in Ryo and ensure all your interactions with him increase his affinity. Following the attached trophy walkthrough will lead you through every decision needed to get this trophy as well as all affinity related trophies.

This trophy will unlock alongside Sanctified Sovereign.

First Haul

Acquired your first item while exploring

See Item Master below for more information.

Item Master

Acquired 100 items while exploring

Missable

This trophy is a huge grind and one that should be started from early on in your time with this game. Throughout the game, you will move to many different locations on the map. Some are story related, some are used to develop affinity and some seemingly have no point of interest icons. Every location you visit has the potential to have hidden items available to find. To get them what you must do is press R2 to open your camera and look around for parts of the screen that start to glitch. If you inspect these glitches you will either find a shadow battle or an item. You need to do this until you have acquired 100 items total. If you visit a location twice in a row you can have items spawn both times as long as there's been some sort of development or new dialogue unlocked, meaning you can't just repeatedly enter the same area and pick up an item.

There's no point in the story where you can endlessly just roam around and pick up items so you will want to be contributing to this from the start or else you will have to do extra playthroughs of the game just so you can have new items spawn over and over again.

Thankfully, the number of items found carries over to new game plus so as long as you get in the habit of opening your camera whenever you enter a location you should be able to unlock this pretty naturally.

It took me roughly two full playthroughs of opening the camera every time I landed at a new location to unlock this.

Look at me now!

Agumon reached Rookie level

Agumon's evolutions are tied to story progress and will unlock at predetermined times. This one will unlock at the end of the Prologue when Koromon digivolves into Agumon.

Ultimate Ascension

Agumon's evolutions are tied to the story and will unlock at predetermined times. Agumon will reach Ultimate level at the end of Part 5. He will evolve in to one of three forms depending on which of your Karma categories has the highest number.

Majestic Malevolence

Dracmon reached Mega level

Missable

Unlike Agumon, your friend's partners Mega levels are not tied to story. In order to unlock them you need to raise that friend's affinity above 70 as well as moving to the location "Deep Woods" whenever it appears to initiate the evolution scenes for that character's Digimon. The affinity trophies are best attempted in the Truthful route because there will be far more opportunities to raise affinity. It is entirely possible to raise all affinities above 70 in one playthrough as long as you always make the right choice. The attached trophy walkthrough contains a perfect run for completing all mega evolutions in one run of the Truthful route. If you don't want to use a walkthrough know that you can save at any choice and reload if you make the wrong decision quite easily.

Also of note, there are Mega evolutions for these partner Digimon that will unlock as part of the story. They do not count towards this trophy. You can only get it through the Mega evolution tied to affinity.

Spirit Judge

Full Metal Partner

Garurumon reached Mega level

Unlike the other partner Digimon, you don't have as much access to the Professor's partner Gabumon (or Garurumon) so there is no affinity related requirement to evolution. Instead, this is a scripted story event that will happen at the end of Part 11 in the Truthful route while fighting Azulongmon.

Maiden of Divine Will

Renamon reached Mega level

Similar to Full Metal Partner, Renamon's Mega level is a scripted story event. It will unlock at the end of Part 10 during your first Harmony route.

Holy Knight

Evolve to Omegamon

Omegamon (or Omnimon as it is known outside this title) is another mega evolution that is unlocked during a scripted story event. You can unlock this at the end of Part 11 while following the Moral route. It is unlocked as part of Agumon's digivolution line but it will require the partner version of Gabumon any time you want to activate it since it is a fusion of the two, so you won't have a lot of time to actually enjoy it.

Astute Recruiter

Recruited a free monster

Early in to Part 1, you will unlock Free Battle and with it, the ability to recruit free Digimon. To recruit one and unlock this trophy select free battle and press talk. press R1 to change categories to enemy and you will see the enemies you are facing in a list. Select one and you will start a dialogue where you have to try and raise the bar above half way by giving that Digimon answers it will find satisfactory. If you succeed you can either choose to request it be your friend or give you an item. Selecting "Be my friend" will attempt to recruit it. You can see your recruitment chances on the screen. Recruitment chances are based off your Karma and how it correlates to that Digimon's type.

Evolution Revolution

Evolved a Free Monster

Any free Digimon that you recruit can be permantly Digivolved. To do so, open the pause menu, select Status, find the Digimon you want to evolve and select it then scroll over to Evolution using R1. All you have to do from here is select the evolution you'd like. However, each evolution of a Digimon requires an item. You will unlock many of these items naturally as you progress through all routes but if you would like to actively farm them you can negotiate with certain Digimon and request an item to get some. See the table below if you would like to do so.

Master Researcher

Encountered all monsters

Missable

Here is the most complicated part of your platinum and likely the reason you even looked up this guide. First of all, don't be fooled by the description this does not unlock from encountering all monsters. It unlocks from owning all monsters. You don't need to own them simultaneously you just need to own them to fill out their page in the Field Guide.

To check your progress open the pause menu and go to Library > Monster. There are 113 Digimon in this game that need to be recruited (Guilmon DLC does not count) and you can tell which ones you have by the colour of their portrait here. If its coloured in, they're counted. If it's greyed out you've battled one but not owned one (I tested - a full greyed out field guide didn't count). If it's dark with no picture then you haven't even seen one. This trophy will unlock once all 113 of these entries are coloured in and selectable.

Most Digimon can be found through Free Battle, many others can be found through evolving, some through story, but a few have more obscure ways of finding so consult the list below to figure out what you're missing. This list is by no means exhaustive, it is only what I've found during my experimentation and in most cases just points out the earliest point for Digimon that appear repeatedly.

Alternatively, check out the attached trophy walkthrough as it points out each and every one of them along the way.
