Introduction

Welcome to the trophy guide for The House In Fata Morgana. The House in Fata Morgana is a series of visual novels and short stories that have finally released on PS4 and PS Vita. This is a cross-buy game with two platinum trophies that only take half-an-hour to complete. It also happens to be an incredible story that could quiver the bottom lip of even the most stoic of people. If you follow this guide it will take around 20 - 30 minutes to get the platinum trophy depending on whether you're playing along with the video or stopping to read the text guide. If you're playing this naturally it will take roughly 40 hours depending on reading speed.

Stage 1: Reach all 8 endings for the main game

The first part of this game is likely the only part you will actually need a guide for. The main game titled The House in Fata Morgana has eight different endings, most of which can be unlocked in chapter select. You need to see all eight of these endings for What Was, and What Could Have Been. Thankfully, you can access the list of endings you've seen under Ending List in the sub-menu for the main game.

There are two ways you can reach this platinum trophy. The first is to play through the game chronologically. The second way is to use chapter select, which will nearly cut the amount of playtime needed in half. Since this game has a lot of dead ends and choices that aren't required for the platinum, we will be using the chapter select option so that there won't be any need for full-game walkthroughs.

Chapter select isn't available at first, to unlock it you must answer three questions in the main menu.

Stage 2: Cleanup

All the trophies in this stage can be unlocked very quickly from the start using Back Door and chapter select. They're fairly self-explanatory, usually being nothing more than clicking an option and skipping through it, but there are still ways you can speed up aspects of particular trophies (namely What's Past is Prologue), so be sure to check descriptions.

Tips

The following section provides information for important aspects of gameplay.

Back Door

If you want to minimize your platinum time there is an option in the main menu titled Back Door. Answering three questions from the story correctly will unlock every part of this game immediately, which can reduce the time needed for the platinum trophy. If you're looking to enjoy this game naturally, don't touch this option. Doing so will pave the way for spoilers and make it difficult to navigate the different portions of this game in their intended order.

The questions you need to answer to access Back Door content are:

  • Warning question: By Answering three questions, you can unlock every story in the game. If this is your first time playing, we recommend following the game's natural progression. Proceed?

    • Answer: Yes

  • Question 1. What color rose did Michel give Giselle

    • Answer: Red

  • Question 2. How many keys are necessary to enter the mansion's observation tower?

    • Answer: Three

  • Question 3. What is the name of the elixir said to be able to cure any disease?

    • Answer: Saint's Blood

Skipping Options

There are two forms of skipping in this game. The usual option in visual novels is available by pressing R1, which will fast-forward text. The much faster option however, is to press up on the directional pad where you will find an option to skip the current scene. The skip option will be the button in the middle shaped like the next chapter button on a typical TV remote.

If you are using the skip options, be sure to set the options in Config under "Text" to:

  • Skip - All Text

  • Stop Skip at Choices - Yes

Fata Morgana

Earned all trophies

Third Time's a Charm?

Finished Reincarnation.

Reincarnation is a short sequel to the main game and the only one in the series to be set in the modern world. It is also exclusive to this PlayStation version and never before released in English.

The option to start this will not be available from the start and will unlock after you've seen all the content under The House in Fata Morgana and A Requiem for Innocence. If you have used the Back Door option then you can access this from the beginning. To achieve this trophy, all you have to do is select it from the main menu and progress to the end. There are no choices or alternate endings.

If you play this as intended, this will take about 8 hours to complete, but if you use the skip option described it will only take two minutes for an easy gold trophy.

Sweet Dreams

Found the hidden fragment.

The hidden fragment can be found under "A Requiem for Innocence" in the main menu. This option will not be available until you finish the main game (titled "The House in Fata Morgana" in the main menu) and the Fragment option itself will appear as "???" within the sub-menu until you complete all the other episodes in the A Requiem for Innocence sub-menu. Each of these options are as simple as progressing through the text and each has a trophy attached to them, so if you're having any trouble unlocking the hidden fragment then you'll want to double check your trophies to see what you're missing. Once you What's Past is Prologue, A Friend By Any Other Name, and A Glimpse of Joy the option titled "Fragment" will fade in.

Fragment is a short story. There is more input in Fragment than any other portion of the game, but despite presenting them as choices, there is only one option available to select at every point in the episode. Simply start the episode, skip scenes if preferred, and select the choices when they appear until you get this trophy.

A Friend By Any Other Name

Finished Assento Dele.

Assento Dele is a short story set during the events of The House in Fata Morgana that can be accessed under "A Requiem for Innocence" in the main menu. It will be locked until you either complete the main game, or use the Back Door option.

There are no choices to make in this episode, you can simply open it and read/skip to the end for yet another easy gold trophy.

A Glimpse of Joy

Finished Happily Ever "After".

Happily Ever ~After~ is a short story that continues on after the events of The House in Fata Morgana that can be accessed under "A Requiem of Innocence" in the main menu. It will be locked until you either complete the main game or use the Back Door option.

The episode contains one choice but it only changes the dialogue in that scene. It won't affect this trophy in any way, so answer it however you'd like, and enjoy this easy gold trophy once the episode concludes.

What's Past is Prologue

Finished A Requiem for Innocence.

A Requiem for Innocence can be accessed from the main menu. It will not be available until you either complete the main game or use the Back Door option.

This is a prequel to the main game and is the second longest part of this collection - second only to the main game. There are no side endings or side content that need to be accessed within this story for the platinum trophy, so instead of repeatedly pressing skip all the way through it, it's much faster to just use the Back Door option to unlock chapter select and load the chapter titled "A Requiem for Innocence Part II: What's Past is Prologue". Choosing this option instead of playing the game from the start will allow you to skip over more than half of the game. Once you finish this selected chapter you will earn this trophy.

If you're playing this part of the game naturally, then don't worry, there are no dead ends that will create need for a guide. There is only one choice and what you select in it has no impact on the trophies.

A Ripple In Eternity

Uncovered the hidden prologue.

When you click The House in Fata Morgana in the main menu the second option in the sub-menu will appear as "???", this is the hidden prologue. To unlock it, you have to finish the main game and reach the true ending (#8) titled Fata Morgana.

The hidden prologue is a short episode set before the main game. There are no choices or dead ends, so once it's unlocked, popping this trophy is simply a matter of starting the prologue and skipping (or reading) to the end.

What Was and What Could Have Been

Found all eight endings in The House in Fata Morgana.

Missable, buggy

This trophy will makes up the bulk of the time needed to get the platinum trophy. To achieve it, you must see all eight endings within the main game titled "The House in Fata Morgana" in the main menu. There are no endings within A Requiem for Innocence and Reincarnation or any of their sub-stories required.

Most of these endings can be accessed with chapter select. The exception to this is ending #3 "Bonjour, Poupee" because it has choices in earlier chapters that you need to make and continue on from, if these choices are not made you will only be able to reach endings #1 and #2 and will need to restart the game. The best way to achieve this trophy is to start a new game and skip through every selection, making the required choices for ending #3 along the way. Since endings #1 and #2 are so close to ending #3 you will want to take advantage of manual saves to reach them on the way to ending #3. Once ending #1 through #3 are achieved use chapter select to get the rest. This may sound confusing if you haven't played the game at all yet but don't worry it will all be covered in the walkthrough below.

Bugged: This trophy has a slight bug attached to it. When using chapter select to hop around the different endings it's possible to have this not unlock once you receive the final ending. The walkthrough below shouldn't cause this glitch for you; it seems to be tied to reaching the endings out of order. If you encounter this glitch there's a simple solution and that is to just start a regular new game without chapter select or save file loading. The trophy will pop almost immediately.

To get all the endings required for this trophy, follow these steps:

  1. Start by unlocking chapter select with Back Door by answering the questions as described in the Tips section.

  2. Go to Chapter Select on the main menu and select Chapter 1.

  3. For all scenes that don't immediately show a choice; press UP to open the menu and press skip scene. You will need to do this many times, so it will not be mentioned again.

  4. When the first choice appears, select "Extend your hand".

  5. When the next choice appears, select "Who are you". This choice will reappear until you've selected all options so follow it with "Who am i", "What is this place", and "Who is the maid".

  6. When the next choice appears, select "Reached in to the frame".

  7. When the next choice appears, select "Go to the Master Bedroom", this choice will reappear until you've selected all options so select the top option over and over until you've pressed "Call for the maid".

  8. If you've selected all the right options, the next choice will have three options. "Accept her proposition" will lead to Ending #1, "Reject her proposition" will lead to ending #2 and "There's still more to be done" will continue the story. Make a manual save and select the option for ending #1, reload once you hit the main menu, select the option for ending #2, reload again, then select "There's still more to be done" to continue the story. If "There's still more to be done" does not appear for you it means that you made a wrong selection at some point.

  9. The choice "Reclaim yourself" will appear seven times. There will be no other choices other than reclaim yourself, so simply click through them.

  10. The next choice will have the option "I won't force her". Select this to reach ending #3 and have the only tedious part of this trophy completed!

  11. Return to the main menu, go to chapter select and load chapter 6 (VI)

  12. The next option to appear is a timed choice that will say "Deny it", which will disappear within 3 seconds. To get ending #4 don't press anything for that choice and let it pass.

  13. Return to chapter select and load chapter 7 (VII).

  14. The next choice that appears is another timed choice. It only has one option that states "Let go". You will have 3 seconds to click it and reach ending #5 before it disappears.

  15. Go to chapter select and load Final Chapter

  16. When the next choice appears, select "I was sleeping in a tree".

  17. When the next choice appears, select "Tread carefully".

  18. When the next choice appears, select "Nellie".

  19. When the next choice appears, select "He's a nice guy".

  20. When the next choice appears, select "I try not to scrutinize other men".

  21. When the next choice appears, select "Go after Nellie".

  22. When the next choice appears, select "I already have someone".

  23. When the next choice appears, select "If you're certain, very well".

  24. When the next choice appears, select "Shove the lord aside" to unlock ending #6.

  25. Go to chapter select and load "Revolution".

  26. You will now have a series of choices that all have only one option to press so progress through "I can't", "I can't do it", "......", and "Take the sword".

  27. The next choice will hold both endings #7 and #8, so make a manual save then choose "Let's go" to reach ending #7.

  28. Reload that manual save and choose "There's one more stop to make" to reach the true and final ending (#8).

Windows to the Past

Entered the Art Gallery.

The Art Gallery is a feature where you can revisit all the images from The House in Fata Morgana, A Requiem for Innocence, and Reincarnation. As such, it doesn't unlock until you have finished every part of those three games. You can access this in the "Extras" section of the main menu.

Despite asking you to enter the Art Gallery, this trophy will actually be earned when you finish all three of the main titles without even having to enter the Art Gallery.

Melodies for the Future

Entered the Concert Hall.

The Concert Hall is a feature where you can listen to all the incredible songs from The House in Fata Morgana, A Requiem for Innocence and Reincarnation. As such, it doesn't unlock until you have finished every part of those three games. You can access this in the "Extras" section of the main menu.

Despite asking you to enter the Concert Hall, this trophy will actually unlock when you finish all three of the main titles without even having to enter the Concert Hall.

Tales Wasted Away in Obscurity

Examined the short story archives.

Short Stories is a collection of stories set at various points in the series. All you have to do for this trophy is select the option in the main menu and it will pop after a brief message. However, you won't be able to access it until you complete The House in Fata Morgana, A Requiem for Innocence, and Reincarnation. If you wish to get this faster you can use the Back Door option to unlock it from the start for a fast gold trophy.

May the World Beyond Be Filled With Light

Finished The House in Fata Morgana.

You won't earn this trophy by reaching one of the seven side endings or dead ends. To unlock this trophy you have to reach the true ending, which is labelled as ending #8 within the game.

For more information on all the endings and the requirements to see them, see "What Was, and What Could Have Been".

Into The Darkness

Took Your first steps into the cursed mansion.

After starting the main game (which will be your only option when first opening the game) you will unlock this trophy very early in the story at the point where you first enter the cursed mansion. If you're looking to get this quickly, you can also use chapter select to skip right to chapter 1 and unlock this instantly.
